At Seedland, we care the community we root and believe children are our future. In this year, the company has joined the S.K.H. St. Christopher's Home's “Lok-lok” & “Yiu-yiu” Sponsorship Scheme to help orphans and children from broken or low-income families to pave their future. The company also attended the Partner’s Luncheon held by S.K.H. St. Christopher's Home to meet the Home’s children and visit the facilities.
Sheng Kung Hui St. Christopher's Home, founded in 1935, began as an orphanage taking care of homeless children. Throughout the years, the Home has been developed to provide various child-focused social services, and is currently the largest non-governmental organization in Hong Kong that provides Small Group Homes, upholding the mission to create and sustain a caring environment for children and youth to grow, to develop potentials and to live a life of fullness.
“Lok-lok” & “Yiu-yiu” Sponsorship Scheme is for all children of the Home. Over 300 children aged from 0 – 18 are receiving the Home’s residential service every year. Some children are orphans, and some are abused or cared inadequately by their parents who are divorced, chronically ill or imprisoned and so on. Over 50% of these children have special education needs as well.
At the event, the old boys and girls thanked for the Home’s care and support and shared how the Home changed their lives. The Home’s children showcased their talents and brought joy to the sponsors. All of them demonstrated their confidence and passion of life. The sponsors also visited the facilities to know more about the daily life of the Home’s children. It was a great chance for Seedland to learn the importance of taking corporate responsibility and inspired Seedland to contribute the society in different ways in the future.
